YOU GUYS! Youguysyouguysyouguysyouguysyouguysyouguysyouguys!!! I just got back from Posh's wedding, aka the Weekend of Most Awesome, where all the FYA ladies were in the same place! And in the same place as champagne! It was super great, but not exactly conducive to getting lots of work done. AND I managed to get home in time for Sherlock -- REALLY not getting work done. Luckily, cover stories practically write themselves, especially when the covers are as amazing as this one.
Onyx: A Cover Story by Meghan
Backup dancers Onyx and Chalcedony will stop at nothing to make their dream come true. They met on the high school dance team, and it wasn't long before they knew they shared a destiny -- to score the lead roles in The Vampire Diaries: The Musical. After graduation, they danced in strip clubs in order to save up money for the plastic surgery that would make them look more like Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder, while getting to test out their audition pieces in front of appreciative audiences. But when Chalcedony captures the interest of a wealthy client, Powers Corporus, who gets them parts as backup dancers in the musical, everything goes wrong. Jealous of Onyx's relationship with Chalcedony, Corporus bribes a plastic surgeon into claiming he's developed a radical iris-tinting procedure designed to give him Somerhalder's piercing blue eyes -- a surgery that leaves Onyx blind, and therefore unable to shave for fear of cutting himself. Unfortunately for Corporus, Chalcedony has sworn eternal loyalty to Onyx, and the two of them go into hiding in Central Park where Onyx discovers the plastic surgeon was actually a warlock with a grudge against the wealthy man. When he blinded Onyx to the apparent world, he gave him second sight to compensate. Will Onyx and Chalcedony use his new ability to uncover the evil at the root of Corporus's wealth? What's really behind the plastic surgeon's hatred? And most important -- will they land the roles of Damon and Elena??
