Procrastination Pro-Tips: BEA 2013, Prancercise and More!

Hello friends! You might have noticed that your normal host isn't bringing in 'da noise (nor 'da funk) this week—Megan's been traveling. As the new girl in the cafeteria, I was honored to be given the chance to take on this week's Pro-Tips post. Megan and I even have the same initals, so if you're a stickler for consistency, you can just pretend I'm her! (She'll be back in the saddle next Friday.) What do I have for you this week? *sweeping hand motion as the curtain rises* Read on ...

Movie-related Things

Ansel Elgort, who's acting alongside Shailene Woodley in two upcoming YA adaptations, wants us to know that "acting is acting," and the "fake incest problem" caused by his roles (in Divergent, he plays Caleb, brother to SW's Tris; in The Fault in Our Stars he plays Augustus, love interest of SW's Hazel) is nothing to be worried about. (I feel compelled to mention that Vulture's URL reads "ansel-elgort-on-ya-fake-incest-itll-be-great.")

Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke is rumored to be in talks to star (as Juliet) in Rosaline, an adaptation of Rebecca Serle‘s Romeo and Juliet-based When You Were Mine.

Who doesn't love an epic makeover montage? (If you don't, exits can be found at both the front and the back of the theater.) Here's a collection of nine of the best.

The Beeb (NOT to be confused with the Bieb) is working on a three-part series adaptation of P.D. James' Pride and Prejudice sequel Death Comes to Pemberly. Brothers and Sisters/The Americans actor Matthew Rhys will be inducted into the illustrious club of Ye Old Actors Who've Portrayed Mr. Darcy.

Lucy Lawless has been trolling the Internet with vague tweets that hint at a Xena revival.

The Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Game of Thrones parody, Game of Desks, is ... amusing?

Miscellanious Things

When it comes to exercise trends, Zumba, shmumba—Prancercise is where it's at.

Vulture is making a prediction that mermaids will ride in on the next wave* of supernatural creature madness.

HOLY GEEBZ, y'all, Sir Patrick Stewart is a true hero. I can't even think about this story of him hugging a fan after she spoke of her struggles with abuse without getting choked up.

Mandy Curtis's photo About the Author: Mandy is a small town girl living in a nerdy world, or—if you want to get literal—an editor/writer living in Austin, TX. In addition to yearning for YA books—the more dystopian or fantastical, the better—she can also be found swooning over superheroes, dreaming of The Doctor and grinning at GIFs.
