Loki’s back—and he’s ready to make the humans of Earth kneel before him. A team of superheroes—Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye—must join together with Nick Fury, Phil Coulson and Maria Hill, all agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., to stop his grand plan, which involves opening a portal to another point in space and releasing an alien army on New York City, from coming to fruition. Of course, hijinks (and massive amounts of destruction) ensue.

The Avengers is one of—if not the—best superhero movies of all time. The cast is superb, the action is epic, and the mix of humor and seriousness is what makes Marvel movies stand out above the rest. I think the more people you can have watching this at one time, the better.
Recommended Level of Inebriation: Depends on the Crowd
I’ve seen this movie probably 10 times, so I don’t really have to pay attention to what goes on to follow along. If the people you’re with are like me, then feel free to bring drinks to the party. However, if there’s one person in the mix who hasn’t seen it, gape at them open-mouthed for at least 10 minutes no drinks allowed.
Use of Your Netflix Subscription: Excellent
Netflix doesn’t often have blockbuster movies available, which is one drawback of the service, but it does have The Avengers, which elevates it at least five level in my eyes. If you don’t have this on DVD or Blu-ray already (and why don’t you?), you should definitely check it out. Particularly if you’re planning on seeing Captain America: The Winter Soldier this weekend.
P.S.—I had hoped to watch Captain America: The First Avenger, but Netflix doesn’t have it any more. I figured The Avengers has enough Cap in it to get you excited, and really—to be completely honest—I’ll take any excuse to watch it again.
P.P.S—I’m really going to miss Chris Evans in front of the camera.
