2014 FYA Holiday Gift Guide

In case you’re like us and have been spending too many hours reading books instead of shopping for your loved ones.

2014 FYA Holiday Gift Guide

I’ve got a short story to share with you guys. Let me preface it with this: I am pretty much always cutting it close with holiday shopping. But I tend to get it done, one way or another. (Thanks be to Amazon 2-day shipping!)

So, here’s the tale: I went on vacation to Portland over Thanksgiving to visit family. Last year, and the year prior, we went to visit this same family over Christmas. So the day before Thanksgiving, I had a mini meltdown about not being prepared for Christmas—you see, my subconscious was panicking that, because we were in Portland, it must be Christmas and OH GOD OH GOD I’VE BARELY STARTED SHOPPING. I soon realized that it was only Thanksgiving, and I had plenty of time*.

*Hahahahahaha.

Fast forward to today, and I’ve still barely started. I can feel my subconscious starting to ramp up again with the panic, but hey, this is the holidays. ‘Tis the season to stress about gifts, right? (OH GOD OH GOD THERE ARE ONLY 10 DAYS LEFT TO SHIP THINGS VIA AMAZON STANDARD SHIPPING.)

If you’re like me and a bit behind on the gift-getting, perhaps some of the awesome (mostly) book-themed items below will help you finish checking off all the friends and family on your to-get-for gift lists? I’ll even break it down for you monetarily. (You know you tend to spend more on your BFF than you do on your Great Aunt Jean.)
