It's been a great year of reading, but books are just the beginning for FYABCers. Last year, we watched movies together.

Be it a Mock Printz meeting, bourbon-fueled hot man slideshows, or freakin' prom, we came up with more and more brilliant ideas to enjoy each other's company.
In other words: WE PARTIED.

We even visited other FYA Book Clubs! Posh, Mandy C., and I met up with the Manhattan chapter, I went down to San Francisco, and Jennie and I discovered the wonders of queso and the Austin book club.

And, of course, we took part in the inaugural year of the FYA Book Club's (now) signature event, #YASummerShowdown.
(For the uninitiated: it's a summer-long scavenger hunt between participating FYABCs and FYA readers. That is also an extreme simplification of the insane fun that is Showdown, so check out the #YASummerShowdown Tumblr and photo album for a better idea of what it's all about. And be on the lookout for a #YASummerShowdown recap and announcement in the spring!)
So, yes, 2014 has been a very good year to the worldwide FYA Book Club. Look at all the pretty pins!

(Pro-tip: the FYABC page now has new clubs section, so you can always quickly see if one is starting up near you!)
Looking ahead to the rest of this year, 2015 promises to be mighty fine for FYABC. There's #YASummerShowdown 2015, obvs. Plus, FYABC is kickin' it in Vegas for Spring Break! (FYABCers, your chapter leader has access to the deets.)
But just because FYABC keeps growing bigger and bigger, that doesn't mean we've forgotten our book club roots. Along with continuing to expand, my hope for FYABC this year is to build on the existing and newly started chapters that we have! So if you've been thinking about joining or starting an FYABC, now's a great time to do it!
