YA Onscreen: JESSICA DARLING’S IT LIST Gets A Trailer

Welcome back to YA Onscreen! Let's hop to.

The trailer for Jessica Darling's It List is live. It's a bit...amateurish, maybe. You can see it here. Read the FYA review here.

Sony has nabbed the movie rights to the not-yet-published YA space thriller The Final Six, by Alexandra Monir. Here's a synopsis:

The story imagines a present-day world under a first-of-its-kind coalition between the United Nations and the international space agencies, with a plot to send a team of six intrepid teenagers to create the first human settlement on Jupiter’s moon, Europa. The book will carry themes of environmentalism, global unity and leadership.

Environmental YA seems to be the new thing! I approve.

Kass Morgan has published a new book in the The 100 series, so we can look forward to perhaps seeing some of those plot points play out on TV.

Twilight's Stephenie Meyer is adapting Kendare Blake's supernatural YA series Anna Dressed in Blood into a movie franchise starring Gotham's Cameron Monaghan and Twisted's Maddie Hasson. Here's a summary:

Monaghan will play a young man who kills the dead, armed with his father’s mysterious dagger. He stumbles upon a ghost — called “Anna Dressed in Blood” — who has slayed every person who dared to step into the deserted Victorian house she used to call home. “Anna” (Hasson) decides to spare Monaghan’s character’s life and the two realize that they may have finally found the one person who can help them unravel their complicated pasts, and survive their complicated present.
