YA Onscreen: The Trailer For PRETTY LITTLE LIARS’ Final Season Is Here

Plus GILMORE GIRLS is a wrap, Cannes goes YA and more!

YA Onscreen: The Trailer For PRETTY LITTLE LIARS’ Final Season Is Here

Welcome back to YA Onscreen! Let's hop to.

Pretty Little Liars' seventh and presumably final season kicks off on Tuesday, June 21, and today we've got a trailer. #SaveHanna indeed!

I'm gonna miss this show.

Filming wrapped this week on the Gilmore Girls revival, and this happened <3 <3 <3

Milo Ventimiglia gave an interview about what we can expect from Jess in the revival, and I love this TV Guide round-up of guesses for those infamous four last words.

Steven Spielberg’s The BFG played at Cannes this week, and yesterday we got a trailer.

Other YA scoop out of Cannes:

Roger Avary's adaptation of Neal Shusterman's YA dystology Unwind has been picked up by Voltage Pictures.

Unwind takes place in a world where those over 18 either function as a cog in the machine of a brainwashed society or they are “unwound”.  That means their bodies are taken apart and given to the government who then disperses them to those who are deemed worthy. Three teens decide to rage against the machine — Connor (Ian Nelson), Risa (Kiernan Shipka), and Lev (Percy Hynes White).

And Cannes financiers are apparently on the hunt for the next big YA franchise, looking at UnwindThe Changeover and Anna Dressed in Blood.

Andy Serkis says his Jungle Book will be "dark and scary," so okay.

American Honey's Sasha Lane will be the lead in Paul Franklin's upcoming YA adaptation of Sarah Alderson's Hunting Lila

Check out the first trailer for the film version of Jeanne Ryan's 2012 YA novel Nerve, directed by Catfish's Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman:

Not YA but super relevant to our interests: Harley Quinn is getting her own Suicide Squad spinoff movie, featuring other kickass ladies from the DC Universe.

That's it for this week! Give us your thoughts downstairs.
