When we put out our reviewer search in May, we had no idea what kind of response we would receive--so imagine our surprise when we received nearly fifty applications! Over the review process, we got to know so many of you a little better, from librarians to teachers to roller derby queens. Although we wish we could share some champ cans and cocktails with everyone, we had to whittle down the list.
It was hard, but we're so pleased to introduce you to our new reviewers, Stephanie and Lacey, and our new Totally Lit Parties contributor, Corrie! Please give them a big FYA welcome.
Stephanie is an avid reader who moonlights as a college Educational Advisor. Though she now calls Orlando home, she grew up all over the U.S. While she still misses the mountains of Colorado and despises the Florida humidity, she discovered she became a true 'Floridian' once she realized she preferred flip-flops to any other type of shoes. Aside from her obsession with YA books and book-related activities, Stephanie loves watching way too much television, reading organizational/DIY blogs, planning awesome parties, Halloween decorating, and playing live-action escape games. She would never turn down a whisky sour or a Mai Tai.
It's taken a decade, but Lacey has finally decided she misses the beaches of Southern California where she grew up. (It took only about a minute for her to miss the Mexican food.) However, she's pretty committed to the fun and sun of Denver, CO, where she plays with numbers and spreadsheets by day, and drinks boozy slushies with her husband and puppy by night. The puppy just pretends.
Totally Lit Parties
Corrie had the genius idea to pitch a series in which she shows you how to throw YA-lit-themed parties! How could we say no to that? In fact, we popped a champ can and happily welcomed her to the team. Look for her Code Name Verity series starter, coming soon.
Corrie Golando lives in Winslow, Arizona, with her husband and two greyhounds. She spent 10 years as a middle school/high school English teacher, and her students gave her a love for all things YA. When she's not working at the high school library, she is writing fanfiction and doing something crafty. She has a love of all things coated in glitter, much to her husband's horror.
We're so excited to have you all!
