YA Onscreen: Hugh Jackman Joins THE ABSOLUTELY TRUE DIARY OF A PART-TIME INDIAN

Welcome back to YA Onscreen! Let's hop to.

Wonderful person and actor Hugh Jackman is going to produce an adaptation of Sherman Alexie's best-selling YA book The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian. AND he'll star in a supporting role! Alexie will adapt the book to screenplay himself, which is always a bonus. This is cool news!

The story centers on a teen named Junior, a budding cartoonist growing up on the Spokane Indian Reservation. Determined to take his future into his own hands, he leaves his troubled school on the reservation to attend an all-white farming town high school where the only other Indian is the school mascot.

Ooh and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is headed to Broadway. I WILL BE THERE. Read FYA's Cursed Child coverage here.

Amy Sherman-Palladino gave a post-mortem interview on the Gilmore Girls revival, with lots of juicy scoop. Follow my Gilmore Girls reviews here!

Ooh, and Elizabeth Banks is producing a television adaptation of Lindy West's Shrill. Both Lindy West and Elizabeth Banks rule.

That's it for this week! Give us your thoughts downstairs.
