ReMade 1x14: The Slow Fade

Time’s running out.

ReMade 1x14: The Slow Fade

Previously: We learn more about Arcadia—the intelligence who runs the ghost city—and she makes first contact with Holden. Meanwhile, the kids start feeling safer … and pairing off.

This Week on ReMade

Arcadia tells Holden that she has information for them, but she’ll only tell Inez and him. Holden eventually persuades Inez to hear Arcadia out, and they learn that humanity ruined the earth, but also figured out wormhole technology that would allow the species to continue … elsewhere. The caretakers were left behind to fix the planet, and wait for humans to return. But when no one ever did, the caretakers figured out a way to use the wormhole technology to travel through time, and plucked the kids out of theirs at the moment of their deaths.

Arcadia also tells them that not all humans left, and that a community might still exist underground. She’ll give them information about how to get there, but only if they help her die. The kids are torn about what to do, but Holden makes the hard decision for them.

In flashbacks, we learn more about Holden, who lost his mother to breast cancer and found solace in the arms of a girl that wasn’t really right for him.

Moments of WHUT

- “Plucked from your place in the timeline.” Huh.

- 1,000 years. That’s heavy, man.

- The bees! And stargates!

- And a hidden base!

Best of the Bunch

Loki’s “ultimate secret” response had me laughing. Gotta love the nerds.

Burning Questions

- Where did the wormholes take the humans? And why haven’t they returned?

- Why did the caretakers choose these kids?

- Does Sanctuary still exist? And what is the other important thing that’s there, the thing Arcadia can’t remember?
