YA Onscreen: The FIFTY SHADES FREED Teaser Trailer Has Arrived

Welcome to another edition of YA Onscreen! I’m covering the series today because Stephanie’s power has been iffy—thanks, Irma—but she and her family are doing well otherwise. We hope everyone else in the storm’s path can say the same, as well as any of y’all who were affected by Hurricane Harvey. All our love to you!

And now, for the news.

The Fifty Shades Freed teaser trailer is here. (You’re welcome?)

Now that that’s out of the way, Patty Jenkins is officially back for Wonder Woman 2.

Daniel Dae Kim is in talks for the Hellboy role vacated by Ed Skrein. (Not the best casting, considering that Kim’s not of Japanese decent, but a far sight better than the whitewashing with Skrein.)

Maze Runner: The Death Cure has a release date: Jan. 26, 2018.

Related: Maze Runner director Wes Ball will direct an upcoming Mouse Guard adaptation.

A little younger than our typical fare, but Kate McKinnon is voicing the new Ms. Frizzle in Netflix’s new The Magic Schoolbus series, and Kate McKinnon is totally on brand.

Will Smith shared a “cast photo” from the set of Aladdin.

And Angie Thomas tweeted a photo of the Carter family from the set of The Hate U Give.

These colorful Thor: Ragnarok posters are delightful. This movie will be a TREAT.

The new Mickey Mouse Club is full of social media influencers.

Alan Ritchson, who wielded Arthur Curry’s (a.k.a. Aquaman) trident in Smallville, has joined Brenton Thwaites (and his bum) on DC’s upcoming Titans series.

Netflix is following in Hulu’s footsteps with their new series Alias Grace, based on Margaret Atwood’s book of the same name.

What did I miss? Head to the comments to let me know, or to chat about any of the above!
