YA Onscreen: Blunt & Miranda Look Delightful In MARY POPPINS RETURNS

Happy New Year, y’all! Thanks for joining me for 2018’s first YA Onscreen. Let’s check out the latest headlines.

John Mayer kicked off the #kylorenchallenge with some amusing results

Season 2 of A Series of Unfortunate Events will be out March 30

New stills from Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. It feels weird to say the words, “I’m attracted to Dumbledore” but there ya go.

The acclaimed UK dark teen comedy, The End of the F***ing World, will be premiering in the US on Netflix this Friday, January 5. You’ll catch familiar faces from shows like Penny Dreadful and Black Mirror

Star Wars: The Last Jedi has now topped $1 billion worldwide and is the eighth highest-grossing domestic movie of all time. Yowza.

Netflix is also reusing Dylan Minnette from their darling 13 Reasons Why for a creepy looking horror movie called Open House. Check out the trailer and add the movie to Your List on January 19.

It’s just a wee bit early to get that excited about the upcoming Mary Poppins Returns (by about a year) but they all look like they’re having such fun

Women in Hollywood are going one step further than the Me Too movement and are starting Time’s Up, an initiative to help not only other actresses but victims in all industries. They’re raising money for a legal defense fund as well (which you can donate to on their GoFundMe page).

The 10 worst sketches of Season 43 of SNL so far.

Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle is nostalgia bait, but it’s done right (this is shameless promotion because I saw this movie recently and I was surprised about how much I genuinely laughed. It was very enjoyable.).

19 movie sequels coming to your screen in 2018.

That’s it for the week! Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
