It's time to let the secret out of Meghan's box: we're starting a Felicity Rewatch Project on January 21st!
That's right, y'all, Meredith and I will be heading back to 1998 to get schooled on the OG frizzy-haired Lady Nerd, Felicity Porter. Each week we'll dissect two episodes, vascillate between Ben and Noel (JK, I'm always and forever Team Ben), bow down to Meghan, love on Javier and, of course, toast to our obsession with this series via a drinking game!
The Felicity Drinking Game Rules
Drink once every time:
Felicity is endearingly earnest.
Ben smiles sheepishly.
Noel is adorkable.
Elena is a better friend than anyone deserves.
Meghan is mean and it's awesome.
Javier butchers a word or figure of speech.
Richard freaks out (in a good or bad way).
Drink twice every time:
Felicity stresses you out.
Felicity says, "Dear Sally."
Sean invents something.
Javier refers to Ben as “Benjamin.”
I was actually a sophomore in college when this series premiered, and I lived vicariously through Felicity (that huge dorm room! New York City! not one but two cute boys to date!) while breathing a massive sigh of relief that my college experience never included... well, all of the holes girlfriend digs herself into. In the years that passed since I graduated and the series ended, I've revisited the show only to find that its magic remains wholly intact, if not magnified by the perspective that age brings. Felicity is truly something special, and I can't wait to dive back into the world of oversized sweaters, Docuventaries and beet powder with all of you.
If you'd like to watch along with us, make sure you check out the first two episodes before January 31st. Felicity is available on Hulu, or you can make a Very Solid Investment and buy it on iTunes for waaaay less than it's worth.
But even if you don't have time to watch every episode, you should still tune into the Rewatch, as we'll hit all of the highlights and over-analyze the shizz out of each moment, large or small... just like our girl Felicity would do.
I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that this is gonna be even better than Free Pizza Fridays. Sorry, Richard!
