YA Onscreen: A Plethora Of CW Renewals

The CW renews a bunch of shows but not some of the ones we're MOST concerned about, Pixar makes us cry (always), and who left Arrow?

YA Onscreen: A Plethora Of CW Renewals

Welcome to another day of YA Onscreen. It was a slow news week, but we dug up some good bits. Here’s what’s new!

17 unforgettable character introductions from around television.

Lakeith Stanfield is in talks to join Gina Rodriguez (along with her movie BFFs, Brittany Snow and DeWanda Wise) in her upcoming Netflix rom-com, Someone Great

Pixar wants to make you cry with their upcoming short (debuting before Incredibles 2), Bao

Showrunners say currently there’s no plans for a crossover between Riverdale and the upcoming Sabrina reboot.

My thoughts as I read this article: Friday Night Lights’ Zach Gilford and Jesse Plemons are apparently BFFs IRL, how cute. And Plemons is dating Kirsten Dunst? And they’re having a baby?!

The Tatums are splitting up. As Darth Vader aned one of our FYAers put it, “NOOOOOOOO!”

What’s heading to Netflix this April

One of the original members of Arrow has made their final exit from the show

Jennifer Aniston is teaming up with Adam Sandler again for a murder mystery movie on Netflix. I want better things for you, Jen. And those things are not Adam Sandler things. Maybe this is her way of dipping her toe in the Netflix waters without having to sign a major contract…

Many of our CW favorites (except The 100 and iZombie, come on!) have just been confirmed as renewed

When Rachel Bloom learned there would be a fourth season of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, she reiterated that she wanted it to be the last. I guess we’ll see how far The CW will let their showrunners go when they’ve still got decent ratings.

A League of their Own is being reimagined as a half-hour comedy series

That’s it for the week! Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
