Icebreaker
When you were in high school, did you have a Life PlanTM like Celine? Did you achieve your goals? If not, what do you think high school you would think of the path you did take?
Questions
- What did you think about Celine? If you didn’t like her at first, did she grow on you?
- Similarly, how did you feel about Bradley? What about the portrayal of his OCD?
- And how did you feel about the two of them both as rivals and later as romantic partners?
- Have you ever had a banter-filled relationship like the one between Celine and Brad? Would you want one in real life, or is that sort of thing better in fiction?
- What did you think about the dialogue in the book? Was it believable for the characters to speak the way that they did? Or did it lean more Gilmore Girls (i.e. highly amusing but not really realistic)?
- Let’s talk about Ms. Bangura (Celine’s mom): Good mom or great mom?
- Who was your favorite secondary character?
- Did you find the outcome of the Breakspeare Enrichment Program believable?
- Hibbert is better known for her adult romance novels. Have you read any? Are you planning to after reading Highly Suspicious?
