Fix: Christmas romance, snowy New England, hot bearded dudes, haunted houses
Platforms: Amazon Prime
Amazon Summary:
As Christmas approaches, attorney Kate Jordan travels to Vermont to oversee the sale of an inn, where she falls for a handsome but cursed ghost.
FYA Summary:
Ambitious Kate is married to her job, and is willing to spend her Christmas trying to sell a haunted inn, in order to get a big promotion at work. There, she encounters a rude and brooding World War I-era ghost who’s cursed to haunt his ancestral home for the 12 days leading up to Christmas. Kate wants to help Daniel break the curse that binds him to the house, so that he can move on, and so she can sell the property for her bosses.
It’s also possible that Kate wants to help Daniel because he’s insanely hot (like, DAMN). I mean, this guy is so hot, he could maybe even lure me away from Chris Evans. Alas, our affair would be brief, but torrid.
Familiar Faces:
Jen Lilley as Kate Jordan
Kate has a breakup scene early in this movie that made me instantly love her. This actress has appeared on Days of Our Lives, but seems to have a pretty solid career in TV movies.
Thomas Beaudoin as Daniel Forsythe
Daniel is broody, cranky, and really just wants to be left alone to eat and read. I feel you, Daniel. I’ve never personally seen this actor in anything else, but I’d really like to get to know his work better, if you know what I mean.
Couch-Sharing Capability: Cozy
It’s the best time of year, y’all! And by that, I mean holiday romance season. Share it with the ones you love. Whether that’s your besties, or a barely willing significant other, make them revel in some Christmas cheesiness with you.
Recommended Level of Inebriation: Get Merry
Like I’m ever going to recommend otherwise? Enjoy this movie with some mulled wine, spiked eggnog, a hot toddy, you know, whatever cocktails you need to get in the spirit. Daniel practically insists upon it.
Use of Your Streaming Subscription: Seasonal
Honestly, I love Christmas-themed romances more than the actual holiday itself. Throw in a Christmas Eve Ball, and I’m there, every time. What’s better than enjoying a glass of something festive next to some cozy candles or tree lights, and watching two ridiculously beautiful people reluctantly fall in love? Celebrate the true meaning of the season! You know, by avoiding reality and responsibilities, to fantasize about a world where you get to wake up fully made-up, in a snowy inn, with a super hot ghost.
