Number of Times Mom Would Have TOTALLY Made Me Stop Watching: 3
The first two episodes of Game of Thrones have already aired, and you guys, things are JUST AS CRAZY AS EVER!!! We’ve gotten some new K’nex pieces in the opening montage, as new kings keep showing up for dinner. King’s Landing is in a tizzy, because how will they ever know how much food to cook if all of those Baratheons keep coming out of the woodwork? Okay, not really, but I like to think of Joffrey worrying over how many chickens he should put in the oven instead of killing babies.
Anyhoo, it’s time for me and my 12-year old self to share our reactions to the first two episodes, where I’ll give you general impressions from both versions of myself, along with the number of times my mom would have SO covered my eyes. (Or sent me to my room, because, you KNOW 12-year old Jenny was watching this in the middle of the night, sitting about 3 inches away from the tv, with the volume almost all the way down!) I’ll also choose what I think is the best scene, before turning it over to you in the comments.

General Impressions
JOHN SNOOOWWWWW!!!!!! Oh man, I am so freaking out at that ending! But nothing REALLY bad would happen to him, right? And why did that nasty old man who marries his daughters (GROSS! The thought of those poor girls gives me shivers.) come back, anyway? Did he see John Snow following him? And WHO is taking the baby boys? I think it was a White Walker, but I think they purposefully didn’t show us.
I’m really happy that Arya and Gendry are traveling together, and I was all like, “OMG!!!!” when he figured out she’s a girl! It would be so cool if they stayed friends forever and fought alongside each other through the years, and then when he became king when they were both grown up it would turn out that he was in love with her all of those years, and she could be his queen, but he’d never ask her to stop sword-fighting or to act like a lady or anything, because he’d love her for who she really is. My big sister tells me I shouldn’t expect happy endings for anybody on Game of Thrones, but I can’t help it!

General Impressions
Tyrion Lanister Tore. It. Up. As usual, but I have missed him these past few months, so it seemed like he was extra on fire. I’m worried that Varys the eunuch is going to somehow use the Sarah Silverman-looking girl to hurt Tyrion, though.
I love, love, LOVE that HBO is (obviously) reading this blog, and paying attention to our casting choices, because not only do I get to raise my glass and say “Chris!” every time Gendry appears, (see below) but now they’ve culled another Skins alumni: Cassie!!! Who’s playing the pregnant daughter-wife who wants to escape her gross, gross, grody old man! (And was it just me, or did she and John Snow have some serious chemistry?)
Best Scene
Would have to be Littlefinger’s awesome turn as a hardass pimp: “Aw, why you cryin’, baby? It’s okay… You know, this reminds me of another ho’ that used to work for me. She cried too…” So well done.
