When you were a freshman in college, did you have a roommate? What was she/he like? Was it a positive or terrible experience for you?
Or if you didn’t have a roommate: have you heard any memorable roomie stories? How did you personally find the adjustment from high school to college?

1. When you were a freshman in college, were you more like Wren or Cath? And, if you identified with one, did you find the other to sympathetic?
2. As a freshman, would you rather have roomed with Reagan or Courtney? And, looking back as an adult, would your preference be different?
3. Wren is quick to forgive her mother, but Cath can’t understand why. Why do you think the girls see their mother in such a different light?
4. Wren and Cath’s father is a tragic figure in the book. Did he make you angry? Sad? Did you connect at all with his plight?
5. Were you Team Levi for the entire book? Or was there ever a moment when you were Team Nick?
6. What were your feelings on fanfic prior to reading Fangirl? And after? What about slashfic?
7. If you had the choice, would you rather read more of Cath and Levi’s story, or more of Simon and Baz’s story?
8. Rainbow Rowell’s writing talent is on dazzling display in this novel. Did you come across any passages that really spoke to you? Any lines that you highlighted?
