This weekend is premiere weekend for Masters of the Universe movie-wise and The Vampire Lestat tv-wise, so a big weekend for fans of He-Man and Nicholas Galitzine and vampires. I might have seen both already but might also be planning second viewings already. Welcome to June!
ICYMI on FYA
The FYA June book club pick is K. Ancrum’s Icarus, and I’m excited for the excuse to bump it to the top of my to read list.
Part two of FYA’s most anticipated books of 2026 is here!
For this week’s Stream It, Stephanie chats about the two seasons of Not Quite Dead Yet, a charming comedy with Gina Rodriguez and also ghosts.
Regina reviewed Where You’ll Find Us by Jen St. James, which asks the question of if you’re really alive if you can never die?
Book-Related Things
We now have a cover for the Heated Rivalry behind the scenes book and it is, as expected, perfect.
Six bestselling authors (and friends) talk about how they wrote a book together.
A conversation with Leigh Bardugo and Liz Climo about their new adorable picture book, Better Pets, and their favorite pets.
Jen St. James talks about her new book, Where You’ll Find Us. As you might recall, FYA reviewed this book earlier this week (link at the top of the post).
Somehow it is the 20th anniversary of The Book Thief because what is time, but that’s a great time to revisit it and talk about it with the author.
We absolutely need to discuss what The Giving Tree gets wrong about love and happiness.
Onscreen Things
Anna Kendrick is directing the movie adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo! Time to move that up the TBRs if you haven’t gotten to it yet.
Season 3 of Interview with the Vampire, which has been rebranded to The Vampire Lestat, is the best (gay vampire) show on TV. Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid (Louis de Pointe du Lac and Lestat de Lioncourt, respectively) also talk about season 3 with GQ.
Speaking of The Vampire Lestat, there was a season premiere screening in New York City with a concert from the band The Vampire Lestat, for which I have looked at SO much content on Instagram like this because I was not personally there. And not to stop there, Lestat also recently did an interview with Rolling Stone.
Sam Reich, Brennan Lee Mulligan, and Vic Michaelis talk about the streaming platform Dropout, which is a game changer for comedy and creators. Pro-tip: get a subscription, start with Rulette on Game Changer and any Noise Boys episode of Make Some Noise, and thank me later.
In Canadian TV news (that will hopefully air in the US), Robbie G.K. of Heated Rivalry has been cast in a Meatballs series and Mark-Paul Gosselaar has been cast in a comedy titled Bulges.
The guest stars and premiere date for season 2 of Adults have been announced!
Social Media Things
The annual Actors on Actors lineup has been announced, and I am especially excited for Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow.
The Odyssey is probably epically longer than it needs to be, but I am here for the press tour with Rob Pattinson, Matt Damon, and Tom Holland.
Miscellaneous Things
To end on a bit of a sad note, Peabo Bryson, who you might know best as the voice behind songs in the Disney animated Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin movies, died at the age of 75, and Marjane Satrapi, author of Persepolis, also recently passed.
