It’s the last day of 2023! Whoa y’all. We’ve got a whole new year of great reads ahead, but before the clock strikes midnight and the ball drops, we wanted to share some favorite books from a few of our Patreon members. We are extremely grateful for their support and for this community of readers we’re so lucky to be a part of. Cheers!

The Atlas Paradox by Olivie Blake: Blake’s follow-up to the BookTok sensation The Atlas Six picks up where it left off and doubles down on the stakes. Blake delves further into the lives, psyches, and motives of Atlas Blakey’s Alexandrian Society initiates as graduation nears. (Yes, this book came out in Oct 2022 but I read it in 2023 so I’m still counting it as a fave!)
Lightbringer by Pierce Brown: Lightbringer is the penultimate, and arguably best, book in Brown’s Red Rising saga. The action stretches across the Solar System and sets up what will likely be an epic final installment as main protagonist Darrow faces some of his greatest foes, including himself.
Trust by Hernan Diaz: This Pulitzer Prize-winning novel examines the lives of Robber Barron era financiers from multiple perspectives. Be sure to read to a surprising, and ultimately satisfying, ending.

I read and loved a lot of books published this year! Hell Bent and Our Share of Night were my favorites (both horror), but I also really liked Happy Place, The Ferryman, The Guest, Whalefall, Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone and Wellness.

Books that came out this year that I liked: Hell Bent by Leigh Bardugo; Happiness Falls by Angie Kim; The Road to Roswell by Connie Willis; Monsters: A Fan’s Dilemma by Claire Dederer. Books I liked this year that came out earlier but I didn’t get to them until now: The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemison; Several People Are Typing by Calvin Kasulke.
