It’s a Friday, there’s a new Adam Brody (and Kristen Bell) show in the world, and spooky season is upon us. Cheers to that trifecta!

ICYMI on FYA

In this week’s Friday Night Lights Rewatch, Mandy C. dishes on all the Dillon goings on and Lyla’s impulse trip to Austin.

Mandy C. also highly recommends Wicked Little Letters in this week’s Stream It, a mysterious movie set in a British small town with Olivia Colman and other well known British actors.

In book reviews:

  • Brian read Ruin Road by Lamar Giles, and be careful what you wish for because you might just get it (and also learn other lessons along the way).
  • Stephanie read Heiress Take All by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka, a heist involving high heels and revenge.

Book-Related Things

This reel of checking out YA books as an adult hits hard.

Forget she’s a ten but…, we’re here for this bookish she’s a ten and… list

This attorney makes a valid point.

Onscreen Things

It’s been 20 years since the premiere of Veronica Mars, a show I love and also pretend the last season doesn’t exist.

Speaking of 20 years since Veronica Mars premiered, let’s look at some guest stars who have become very famous since then! And it wouldn’t be a true anniversary celebration if we didn’t look at where the stars of Veronica Mars are now.

But wait, there’s more! It’s also the 15th anniversary of Jennifer’s Body.

Guy Ritchie’s Young Sherlock series has added Max Irons to the cast as Mycroft Holmes and yes, good.

Tamara Smart has been cast as Thalia in season 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2.

Freddie Prinze Jr. has signed on with the I Know What You Did Last Summer sequel, because everything that was old is new again and also that movie terrified me as a teenager.

Get your first look at the new Cruel Intentions show because it really is the late 90s again.

That being said, I am very on board with this new adaptation of Wuthering Heights.

Michael B. Jordan is in Ryan Coogler’s new vampire horror movie, Sinners, and I support all vampires, even the ones that might be too scary for me personally.

Netflix has greenlit an East of Eden series with Florence Pugh and Mike Fast, among others.

Ruth Ware’s The Woman in Cabin 10 is being adapted and that is one stacked cast.

I am SO here for Thunderbolts, and not just because I love one James Buchanan Barnes. (Also hey girl hey, Yelena.)

I will probably need to watch Caddo Lake in daylight, but this trailer has my attention (and let’s be real, I’ve watched worse for Dylan O’Brien).

New John Wick universe movie!

FYA faves Connie Britton and Kathryn Newton are in the upcoming movie Winner!

Social Media Things

I regularly miss The CW of yore.

Seriously, where did those Gilmore girls get all of those morning hours to do all the things?

This thread on the Bridgerton Ball turned scam is wild.

Speaking of Sinners:

Is this where I mention that I am obsessed with the Interview with the Vampire show? Because I am and this tweet Gets It.

Titus Burgess Gets It: Twilight edition.

All of these Twilight memes are *chef’s kiss*

Meredith loves vampires, ridiculous werewolves, and Shadowhunters the most but has a soft spot for a good murder (mystery). When not reading or working, she prefers to make baked goods and cocktails and catch up on TV and movies, sometimes all at once. Meredith resides in Austin with a particularly clingy cat.
