Fridays hit differently in the summer, don’t they? Here’s hoping you have a fun weekend—or at least a weekend filled with books—in your near future.
ICYMI on FYA
Mandy W. donned her lab coat for a Highly Scientific Analysis of Fire Island, a movie that puts the Pride in Pride and Prejudice.
Kandis wrote up a Stream It on Banshee, which is a story about another tiny bonkers town full of sin from the guy who brought us True Blood.
And have you read this week’s Book Reports?
- Mandy W. joined the blog tour for Emiko Jean’s Tokyo Dreaming (Tokyo Ever After #2), a book that examines the realities of happily ever afters.
- Brian shared his thoughts on Robbie Webber’s If You Change Your Mind, a gay romance that feels like a summer fling.
- I reviewed Jennifer Dugan’s Melt With You, a sapphic rom-com featuring a road trip in an ice cream truck.
- And Sarah posted her review of Sarah J. Maas’s House of Sky and Breath (Crescent City #2), which had her gasping at the end. (You, too? Head to the comments to yell about it!)

Miscellaneous Things
I am OBSESSED with Detra.
What’d we miss? Add your fave distractions of the week in the comments.
Okay, somewhere along the line I completely missed that Love & Gelato was going to be a movie, let alone next week, and I also missed that we’re getting a Jennifer E. Smith movie adaptation, and it comes out like… next month? Yes please.
Can’t wait for The Summer I Turned Pretty this weekend! (Well, probably won’t binge it but will start it)
And Ms. Marvel is fabulous and I love everything about it. Iman Vellani is fantastic!
Unrelated to anything posted, I just finished the third (and apparently final) season of Love, Victor and I just loved it. (And I totally called the ending)
Errr, there was something else I was going to comment on but I’ve now completely lost it. OH! Can’t wait for Persuassion either! My favorite Austen novel, so very much looking forward to a new adaptation.
